Folkes' plea to Bulldogs board
I congratulated all the new board members Sunday after the election. I know them all pretty well. I have played a lot of games with most of them. We get on with things. "I'll get on with coaching and they get on with administering and the players get on with playing." Folkes was angry that his coaching position was under review still five days before his club's first trial match of the season. "Every coach is under pressure to perform. Every club is built on the success of their NRL side," he said. "The decision will be made on how successful we are this year. We haven't kicked a ball yet. It's ridiculous to be talking about what's going to happen in '09 when '08 isn't under way yet." Bulldogs chairman George Peponis said he had received assurances from directors that Bennett would not be approached behind Folkes' back.

Are Canada's athletes receiving enough funding?
Kids in sports are always better students its been proven year in and year out, so to establish good role models as apposed to the junk they watch coming out of Hollywood!! Pro athletes is not what we are talking about here, we are talking about an elite amateur athlete that gets no breaks and needs to be a waiter and train in order to try and represent his or her country. We are so quick to just accept millions of dollars worth of renovations??? for a building when it takes a hundred thousand only to build a house from the ground up. Money is being blown by the Goverment on frivoulous things and so why not amateur athletes as well??? .
Kings Blog and Q&A
Sam Amick grew up in the Bay Area town of Pleasanton, Calif., where his hoops inspiration was the Run TMC crew of Golden State that was ruined when the Kings traded for Mitch Richmond in 1991. He headed for Sacramento nonetheless and earned a journalism degree from Sacramento State in 2000 before joining The Bee on a full-time basis in 2002. He assumed the Kings beat before the 2005-06 season. His favorite athlete of all-time is William Nuschler Clark, otherwise known as "Will the Thrill." Sam can't answer every question that comes his way, but he'll do his best. February 19, 2008 Let the "second half" begin PORTLAND - The All-Star break is often looked at as the halfway point of the season, but that's not the case by a longshot. So with 31 games out of 82 left, welcome to the 62.2 percent point Kings fans! The Kings can only hope the home stretch goes a little smoother than its beginning.
