Justin Laborce, 17, was hospitalized for six days, placed on a ventilator and given massive does of antibiotics after an infection on his foot apparently turned into toxic shock syndrome, causing a high fever, low blood pressure and chest pains. Now he's feeling great and hoping to play Division III football, possibly for Capital or Otterbein, after he graduates in May. "I've been working hard to get my strength back," Laborce said. "I went through and played the rest of the football season, but I wasn't 100 percent." He said he's more careful now when he gets a cut or scrape to make sure he cleans it and keeps it covered. He said his teammates are more careful, too. "It really does make people more aware because it happened to someone around their own age," he said.
